Free Job readiness two month programme for unemployed youth

Imsimbi Training and Meriting Youth Development have trained over 350 unemployed youth for free on our 2 month Job readiness programme since 2013. The Job readiness programme trains unemployed youth in seven short Services Seta accredited courses, preparing them for the workplace. These include customers service, sales, effective business communication, emotional intelligence, call centre and telephone skills, HIV/AIDS peer educator, preparing yourself for an interview & cv preparation. Data capturing and Microsoft office training is also included. The project also aims to place these youth in jobs. Thus far over half of the unemployed youth who have attended the programme, ie approximately 170 youths have been placed in permanent jobs. Below are photos of some of the graduation ceremonies.

The first group receive their certificates after completing their two month course in Job Readiness skills The programme includes 8 short skills courses as well as Microsoft computer skills and data capturing skills.

 

Mandela Day

On Mandela Day Imsimbi staff and children painted a classroom in an inner city school.

Imsimbi Training in 67 minutes painting painting Family Violence, Child Protection & Sexual Offences Unit in Roodepoort Police Station and Victim Friendly Room in Honeydew Police Station.

 

Bathabile Primary School – Diepsloot

Imsimbi Training has been involved in the setting up of a vegetable garden at Bathabile Primary School in Diepsloot.
Imsimbi staff members were directly involved in helping to plant the vegetable garden with the school children.

 

Philani Support Group – Education project – Ivory Park

Imsimbi Training has been working with the Philani Support Group an HIV/AIDS orphan support group in Ivory Park where over 320 HIV/AIDS orphans in the Ivory Park community are cared for.
We have been supporting their Saturday morning education classes and extra lesson programme.
We have supported the setting up of internet cafe’s and a computer centre in the community.

Imsimbi co-sponsors Philani orphaned children to visit Gold Reef City for the day
